Now we had all our footage successfully recorded and to a good standard it was time to move on to the next step of production which is called editing. Being new to the iMacs we had Mr Henton give us a short introduction and tutorial to them, he taught us a number of different keyboard shortcuts, how to transfer footage and how to work software such as iMovie, Quicktime and Finalcut. This set us up well to go on and edit our footage. When editing we gave ourselves a number of options as to which pieces of footage to choose, we did this by recording the same shot from a number of different angles so that would could pick and mix which angles we wanted based on which looked best and fitted together best. We made sure to includes all 3 required camera shots, 180 degree shot, shot reverse shot and over and panning.
My experience in using the iMacs today to do this has set me up well for future tasks which may include doing similar things to similar types of footage which include the various types of camera movements and angles. I plan to do some further practice editing on the Mac's before we have to edit our main teen horror task as I feel it will keep my knowledge refreshed and help it to continue growing, making myself more comfortable using such software as Final Cut Express.
